Little Girl’s Heart Stops And She Has A Grand Mal Seizure After Babysitter Drops Her, She Is In Critical Condition
A little girl is in the hospital in critical condition after she went into a terrifying state last week.
Her parents had left her with a babysitter. But only a few hours later, they received a horrible call that would change their lives…
The parents wrote the following on GofundMe:
“Our 9-month-old daughter Athena was at a babysitter’s house this last Saturday when we received a frantic call from the sitter saying Athena’s eyes were rolling into the back of her head and that she was unresponsive and that we needed to call 911.
We asked why the sitter didn’t and the sitter replied she couldn’t get through.
“We hung up and called immediately and drove as fast as we could but the ambulance was leaving the sitter’s house when we arrived, so we all rushed to the hospital not knowing what happened. When we arrived they informed us that she had taken a fall from a good height And it happened 2 hours prior from the sitter calling us.
“When they rushed us back to the room about 12 doctors stood rushing around trying to resuscitate her.
They informed us she had been seizing for 45 minutes and her heart stopped. They worked for 3 hours before getting her stable enough to “flight for life” her to the children’s hospital of Denver.
“They stabilized her and informed us she had blunt force trauma to the head causing bleeding to the brain and she has multiple injuries on her body. Her stomach began to swell with a strange fluid so they did an emergency surgery on her stomach to make sure she did not have any tears in any organs which she did not, but she now has a 6 in incision across her belly.
She also had an eye exam showing that she had bleeding behind both eyes causing the layers of the eyes to separate leaving her with permanent eye damage. It is still unclear of what all of her exact problems are, we were informed that the sitter had thrown Athena in the air and missed catching her as she fell 5 to 6 feet onto a hardwood floor face first.
The sitter did not inform us of the accident. Athena’s hospital bills are skyrocketing and we could really use any donations or help for her hospitals while we are going through this nightmare of an event. We are still currently trying to get her stable enough to transport her to Levine’s Children’s hospital in Charlotte, NC. to be close to home around family. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.”
Please pray for the little girl or donate here. Thank you.
